Ponds, Creeks & Pools in Republic, MO

Some of our favorite work is the unusual kind: ponds that actually hold water, dry creek beds that move stormwater beautifully, and clean pool digs ready for the installer. Ozarks ground makes water features tricky, with rocky clay that won't seal on its own and limestone where you least want it. Rapid Excavating builds and repairs ponds, creeks, and pool excavations across the Republic area, shaped right the first time.

Working Republic's ground

Republic has boomed along the US-60 corridor, with warehouse development and new subdivisions spreading across what was recently open farm ground. Flat-looking prairie lots here still need careful grading. Water on the west side of Greene County has nowhere to go unless you give it a path.

Around Republic we take on commercial pad prep near the 60/174 corridor, subdivision yard regrading, gravel driveways for the surrounding farmsteads, and land clearing at the edges of new development.

What's included

  • New pond excavation, shaping, and clay sealing
  • Pond repair for ponds that won't hold water
  • Dry creek beds and decorative drainage channels
  • Swimming pool and stock tank excavation, dug to the installer's spec
  • Dam and spillway work
  • Banks, berms, and finish grading around water features

What it costs

Water features are priced by dig volume, ground conditions, and how the water is held or moved. Small decorative ponds and creek beds start in the low thousands; larger stocked ponds and full pool digs are quoted per project after we walk the site. Every quote is free and in writing.

Typical ponds, creeks & pools projects around Republic run $2,500–$15,000+ depending on scope, and every job starts with a free written quote, so you know the number before we start.

Nick and Rapid Excavating do an excellent job. They went above and beyond what I expected. I have used them several times. They have done dirt work, a gravel driveway, and recently replaced the main water line. When the last job was completed, my yard looked better than it did before. They do everything possible to save the home owner money and get the job done correctly. I had three contractors look at my problem and bid the job. Nick did the most in-depth assessment of the water line issue. The other contractors were going to jackhammer my patio and basement walls, but Nick was able to make the repair without any damage to my concrete. I highly recommend Nick and his team. I will be a lifelong customer.

Ponds, Creeks & Pools questions, answered

Why won't my pond hold water?

Usually the bottom was never sealed. Ozarks soil is rocky and leaky, and a pond needs its clay layer found, compacted, or brought in. We diagnose whether it's seepage, a leaking dam, or the wrong site, and quote the fix in writing.

How much does it cost to dig a pond near Republic?

It depends on size, depth, and how much sealing the ground needs. Small decorative ponds start around $2,500; half-acre stocked ponds run well into five figures. We walk the site and give you a free written number before anything moves.

Do you dig for swimming pools?

Yes. We excavate to your pool installer's exact spec, handle the spoil dirt, and leave access clean for the next crew. Rock digs are quoted honestly up front.

Can you build a dry creek bed that handles real stormwater?

Yes. A dry creek bed done right is drainage first and looks good second: correct fall, the right rock sizes, and a real outlet. It's one of our favorite ways to solve a wet yard without burying pipe.
